WEEKLY EVENTS


Midweek on Wednesday Nights for Grades 7-12
We meet from 6:30-8:00 p.m. for fun and fellowship. The activities and locations vary each week, so check the website and worship guide for specifics:

Monday Mania 2012
We have a fantastic line up of activities on Mondays this summer for students who have completed grades 6-12. Check out the details below and register online for all Monday Mania outings!

June 4 - Houston Fast Track Go-Karts, 4:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Do you have a driver's license? You won't need one here! Speed around the track with FSM at Fast Track Raceway. Your $15 includes unlimited go carts, mini golf and 24 tokens for the game room. Bring dinner and money for snacks orextra tokens. Drop off and pick up in the Outlet.


June 11 - SplashTown, 12:30 - 8:00 p.m.
Spend a day with us at the waterpark! The cost is $30 and includes dinner. You may want to bring extra money for snacksand drinks. If you're involved with VBS, grab a quick lunch afterwards or bring a sack lunch with you that day and meet us in the Outlet. We'll return to the Outlet by 8:00 p.m.


June 18 - Studio Movie Grill, Movie and time to be determined
Relax and hang out with us as we catch a movie together. We'll let you know the movie selection and viewing time once the theater has announced their schedule. Watch the website and worship guide for details! Drop off and pick up at the Studio Movie Grill in Copperfield (8580 Hwy 6 North, Houston 77095).


July 9 - Roller Skating, 12:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Get ready for a few laps around the rink! We'll go to Bear Creek Roller Rink for an afternoon of skating. Cost is $10 and includes admission, regular skate rental, one small drink, a bag of chips and one hot dog or slice of pizza. Bring socks and extra money if you want to rent blades or buy extra drinks and snacks. Drop off and pick up in the Outlet.


July 16 - Sky High Sports, 5:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Come and bounce off the walls - literally! This place has wall-to-wall trampolines, a foam pit and dodge ball. You must either go barefoot or wear tennis shoes. Cost: $20 for 2 hours of jumping. Bring extra money for the snack bar. Drop off and pick up in the Outlet.


July 30 - Bowling, 5:30 - 9:00 p.m.
The pins are set and we challenge you to keep it out of the gutter! We're going to Copperfield Bowling Center. For $12 you get 2 hours of bowling, shoe rental, pizza and a drink. Bring socks and extra money if you want to buy drinks and snacks. Drop off and pick up in the Outlet.


August 6 - Astros Game, 4:30 - 11:00 p.m.
We have great seats this year, plus all you can eat and drink for only $25. Let's support our Astros and enjoy a great evening at Minute Maid Park. Drop off in the cafeteria and pick up in the Outlet parking lot.


August 13 - Mystery Monday Mania, 12:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Crazy, wacky fun awaits you! Be ready for fun and adventure around town. Bring your lunch with you to the Outlet or eat before you come. Drop off and pick up in the Outlet. Cost: $25 (includes dinner).

Midweek Student Gatherings for Fry Road
We have two new Bible studies for Junior High students.
Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Junior High Girls are invited to a Bible study led by Ashley Lovett and Jessica Stephenson. We are meeting in Bridgeland and studying Wild About You by Angela Thomas. You can get updates via text message or Facebook. Call or text Jessica for more information: 706.255.4428.

Thursdays, beginning on June 7, the Junior High Guys will meet at the Pyles' home! Golfing, grilling, baseball, canoeing and fishing will be followed by a study on Proverbs. See Spencer Pyles or Austin Vaughn for more information. (Dads, if you are an expert in any of these areas please let us know!)

 

UPCOMING BIG EVENTS


Junior High Mission Trip Car Wash Fundraiser, May 19
We're still trying to raise money to offset the cost of our summer mission trip to San Marcos. All students and adult leaders who are planning to go on the trip are encouraged to help with this event: Saturday, May 19 from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. in the Outlet parking lot. Dirty cars and donations accepted! Come let us make your car sparkling clean while supporting a great cause.

Jr. High Mission Trip to San Marcos, Texas
San Marcos River Work Camp was so incredible that we're going back this summer! We'll stay in the dorms at Texas State University, spend 4 days doing service projects, eat meals at the South Side Community Center, and worship in local churches. There will also be a float down the river and a fun day at Schlitterbahn at the end of the week.

  • June 24-30
  • For students in grades 7 & 8 in the 2011-2012 school year
  • $300 for students ($60 non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot, due by April 30)
  • $200 for adults

 

Sr. High Foreign Mission Trip to Haiti
From getting the chance to serve children, to the opportunity to help a whole village develop a sustainable economy, Haiti will be a trip of a lifetime. The ministry will happen in rural village of about a 1000 people at the international branch of Frontier Camp known as Jacob's Well. From that complex, we will spend time in the village of Limbe building chicken coops and running children's camps. For more information about the trip and the necessary travel arrangements, please email joshua.toepper@foundrychurch.org. Space is limited, so sign up ASAP.

  • For students in grades 9-12 in the 2011-2012 school year

Sr. High Mission Trip to Marvell, Arkansas
You'll find no shortage of southern hospitality in Marvell, Arkansas. The town is located in Arkansas' Mississippi River Delta country, where you’ll find unique culture and character and scenic views of rich agricultural lands. But Marvell itself is a poor town that struggles with poverty. We will show the love of Jesus through a variety of work projects and ministry to children through activities such as Kids Club, Outrageous Sports Camp and Work Projects. Evening activities are designed to give participants insight into the lives of local residents and the culture of the area.

  • July 1-7
  • For students in grades 9-12 in the 2011-2012 school year
  • $350 for students ($60 non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot, due by April 30)
  • $225 for adults

 

Beach Trips
This year we're going to Surfside, Texas where we'll stay in some amazing beach houses. We'll hang out at the beach, worship, and spend time in small groups digging deeper into our faith. There are separate trips for Jr. and Sr. High so please see the dates below:

  • Students in grades 7 & 8 in the 2011-2012 school year attend July 23-25
  • Students in grades 9-12 in the 2011-2012 school year attend July 25-28
  • $160 ($50 non-refundable deposit required to hold your spot)

Sunday Mornings - Student Life Groups
This is where 7-12 grade students build community and a sense of belonging with their peers. They will discover God's word through adult guided discussion lessons in their grade level small groups.

Christfire - Choir for Grades 6-12
If you're in grades 6-12 and like to sing, Christfire needs you! Rehearsals are on Sunday afternoons from 4:15-5:15 p.m. in the Choir Room (JRC). In addition to providing special music for the worship services, Christfire performs in the community and produces their own concerts.

FSM Sunday Night Activities
Jones Road Campus:
United for students in grades 7-12.

  • Students in grades 7-12 meet in the Outlet, and then break into groups by grade level. We have fun and fellowship, learn more about God, play some crazy games and enjoy a meal.
  • 5:30-7:00 p.m.
  • Bring $3 for dinner.

Fry Road Campus:
FUSE is our new venue for Fry Road students in grades 7-12 on Sunday nights! We'll meet at the Bridgeland Activity Center. Contact Jessica Stephenson for more information:

  • Students in grades 7&8 meet from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
  • Students in grades 9-12 meet from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
  • All students will eat dinner together from 6:00-6:30 p.m.
